Novice Winter Running Program

Whether you're new to running or just getting back into it, this program gives you a place to start. There's no pressure to be fast or perfect. We begin slow, build steady, and help you find a rhythm that feels good for your body. 

You'll learn how to ease into running, build confidence, and grow your stamina without feeling overwhelmed.

  • Anyone returning after significant time off 
  • Runners recovering from injury 
  • Anyone who wants to build fitness without pressure or intense expectations.


Program Details
No experience needed. If you've run before and your pace is around 6:50 minutes per kilometer or slower (e.g., 7:00, 7:10, 7:50), you'll fit right in.  If you can't run continuously yet, that's fine. We use walk to run intervals to help you build endurance in a way that feels doable.

What to Expect

As the program moves forward, you’ll build stamina with walk to run intervals that help you feel confident in your running. The goal is to help you reach 5K at your own pace without pressure or overwhelm.

How it works:

You’ll meet two days each week for workout-based runs (intervals) with others who share similar goals. On your third day (our “long run” day), you’ll focus on your personal distance goal. Most runners in this group aim to finish a 5K, but your plan is flexible based on your needs.

 

Runs are led by certified coaches who keep things fun, personal, and supportive. Outside of class, you'll have access to an online community where you can share progress, stay encouraged, and feel connected.

Step-by-Step Program Details

  • 12-week program | 3 days per week | 36 lessons | London, Ontario
     

Start Date: 

  • Monday, January 12,  2026  to Monday, April 6th, 2026.
     

Schedule:

  • Monday's 6:15 to 7:00 PM at Edgevalley Park (269 Edgevalley Rd)
  • Wednesday's 6:15 to 7:00 PM at Edgevalley Park (269 Edgevalley Rd) 
  • Saturday's: 8:30 AM at Springbank Gardens (205 Wonderland Rd S)
  • Other Perks
  • Access to a private Facebook group where we post workouts and program updates 
  • Small group sizes to ensure personalized coaching and individual attention

Classes are designed so no one is left behind. You’ll always have support at every stage 

 

The Fine Print:

  • Please consult your physician or health care provider before starting any fitness program to ensure it’s right for you. 
  • Classes will take place rain, snow, or shine, unless there is a severe weather warning or unsafe road conditions. 
  • Programs are non-transferable from season to season

 

Holiday Schedule 

  • Our final 5K will be on Easter Monday (April 6th) at 6:30 PM. All classes will be running together for our end of season graduation!
