Am I too slow to be a real runner?
This is the question almost everyone carries, even the people who look confident at the start line.
Am I too slow? Am I holding people back? Am I the one everyone is secretly waiting for?
The truth is, speed is not what makes someone a runner. Showing up is. Staying when it gets uncomfortable is. Letting your body learn instead of punishing it for where it is today is.
Most people don’t quit because they are slow. They quit because they decide slow means they don’t belong.
But slow is not a character flaw. It is just a starting point. And starting points are not meant to be impressive. They are meant to be honest.
You are not behind and you are most certainly not an exception.
You are not taking up space that isn’t yours.
You are building something. And building always looks quieter than proving. —Coach K
