Why do my ankles hurt when I run?

Answer (and a solution!):

Running puts a lot of stress on the ankles, which can result in tenderness and pain. The discomfort could be caused by, among other things: overuse, improper warm ups, ill fitting shoes, or lack of strength training in that department.

Here's a quick combo to add to your running warm up. This targets the feet, ankle, calves, glutes and hamstrings to help prevent those annoying aches that can pop up and disrupt your run. You can also hold weights to the side and add this to your strength routine to help strengthen those babies!

Side bar: These will be showing up in our classes in the near future!! ❤️💪👐 The combo: 2 quick but controlled calf raises transitioning to a slow squat jump. Repeat 5 or 6 times. You will be surprised at how high your heart gets elevated during this one!

Practice, and let us know what you think!!
