Your road to 21.1K starts here.
Road to 21.1 is a 20-week half marathon training plan delivered through Notion, designed for runners who already have some running experience and are ready to build the endurance and confidence needed to take on 21.1K.
Whether you’re training for your first half marathon or returning to the distance and looking for more structure, this program will guide you from your first week of training all the way to race day.
And this is about a lot more than just running farther.
Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to train by effort, build your long runs gradually, tackle hills and faster workouts, fuel and hydrate for longer distances, recover properly, and adjust your training when your body or life has other plans.
Who This Plan Is For
Road to 21.1 is designed for runners who have already started their running journey and are ready to work toward the half marathon distance.
Before starting this plan, you should be able to comfortably complete approximately 5–10K using running, run/walk intervals, or a combination of both.
This plan is a good fit for you if:
- You can currently run or run/walk approximately 5–10K
- You’re comfortable running 3–4 days per week
- You’re preparing for your first half marathon or want more structure for your next one
- You want to gradually build your endurance without jumping straight into high mileage
- You want guidance on effort, fueling, recovery, strength and mobility
- You want to understand the purpose behind your workouts instead of simply following a list of distances
- You’re willing to slow down, take walk breaks and adjust your training when your body needs it
You do not need to be fast, and you definitely don’t need to be able to run 21.1K before you begin. That’s what the next 20 weeks are for.

More Than a Half Marathon Training Schedule
Road to 21.1 doesn’t just tell you what to run.
It helps you understand why you’re doing the workout, what the effort should feel like, when to push, when to pull back, and how to make adjustments when training doesn’t go exactly as planned.
You’ll learn how to handle the physical side of building toward 21.1K, but we’ll also work on the part that happens between your ears.
The nerves. The comparison. The bad runs. The days your watch tells you something you don’t want to see. The moments when you start wondering whether you’re actually capable of doing this.
Training for a half marathon isn’t just about getting better at running farther.
It’s about becoming a runner who understands their body, trusts their training, and knows how to keep going when things get hard.
One week at a time. One run at a time.
One step at a time.
Your road to 21.1 starts now.
